Why I Use Melio Payments for Invoicing Clients

It’s been important to me from day one to operate a lean business. As you grow a business, your expenses tend to grow, too. I continuously research low-cost or free tools whenever possible.
I was recently hired in a contractor position. They gave me the opportunity to be billed through my LLC. This means that instead of being a contractor, I’m technically considered a Service Provider. My business and their business have a signed agreement for the scope of the work. And instead of receiving a paycheck, I’ll invoice them once per month.
I use Wave Accounting (which is totally free), but it turns out that their invoicing tool is not free. They charge 1% for any ACH transfers and 3% for credit card fees. So I started searching for a tool that wouldn’t eat into my profits.
What is Melio?
Melio is a tool that allows you to invoice customers or pay vendors through one platform completely free. There is only a fee if your customer chooses to pay your invoice via credit card.
How is Melio different from other invoice platforms?
Melio stood out to me because it’s completely free. I’m always looking for tools in my toolkit that provide me value without a hefty recurring subscription bill. It’s well-designed, seamless, and allowed me to get set up quickly.
Who is Melio built for?
Melio is built for business owners who want to create invoices for clients or pay vendors. It allows you to transfer money from bank accounts with no fees, which in the world of digital invoicing, is incredibly rare. I’ve done a lot of research into various tools and have found this to be the best one. If you know of another great option, I’d love to hear!
