Hi, I’m Kasia
I’m a writer and entrepreneur working out of my home office in the suburbs of Chicago
I’m the writer of Girl in the Dark Room, a literary suspense novel about a woman trapped in a dark room. At its core, the story explores how abusive relationships can render women invisible. I’m currently at work on my third novel.
I’m proud that my writing reaches thousands of readers each month and was recently published in Write or Die magazine.
When I’m not working, I’m enjoying being a newlywed, renovating our new home, and spending time with our dog Remy and cat Hunter. Thanks for being here—I hope you find something inspiring, especially on the blog.
Praise for Girl in the Dark Room

—Alexandra Sehulster, editor at St. Martins Press
“My mind is abuzz with your moving, brilliant, page-turning book. Emma is a character who will stay with me for a long time.”
—Chelsea Bieker, author of Godshot, Heartbroke, and Madwoman
“A terrific and promising project. Emma is an exceptional character and it is simply impossible not to become invested in her well-being.”
—Bernadette Baker-Baughman
“I was immediately pulled in by the juicy premise, and the fascinating dynamic between Emma and Ash—how they play cards together and how he crawls into bed with her at night.”
—Rachel Beck
“An important exploration of trauma.”
—Abby Saul
